At last we have some movement towards a Constitution for the Church. The emphasis on collegiality of the bishops, and the move to relegate the Curia to service of the bishops rather than centralization of power in the Curia is a welcome one. We need to continue to push for a greater voice of the non-ordained in the decision-making of the Church. It sounds like there is some movement in that direction by this G-8 Council.
